They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. We say thank god for that or else we wouldn’t have art. What may seem mundane to one may be fascinating for the other and that is exactly what Sanibh Aryan, a young working professional in Bangalore proves. Having done his engineering from MIT, Manipal and now putting his degree to good use, Sanibh picks up his camera every once in a while to capture real moments in time that are worth framing.
The photos in this collection have been taken in and around Bengaluru and Mumbai and each has an interesting story behind it. For example, after he took the photo of the chanawala at Marine Drive in Mumbai, he was asked to not publish it in the paper for then he would be asked to move. The photo of the kids trying to buy kababs with just 20 Rs. emphasizes the economic disparity, which as Sanibh says, is more blatant in Mumbai than anywhere else. The image of the sufi singer was taken at the Haji Ali Dargah, a place that Sanibh visits every time he is in Mumbai. For him it is a place where there are no differences – be it religion, caste, money or creed.
