BB Speak: Happy New Year! |
The end of a year brings with it a reminder of all those things we should have done but didn't do. It forces us to accept the pace at which time passes and what little control we have over it. It causes us to reflect on our successes and failures and gives us the chance to learn from our mistakes. It also announces the onset of a new year which is full of hope, opportunities and many reasons to celebrate.
Different cultures celebrate their New Year at different times of the year and in different ways. In India, the ethnic diversity ensures that there are at least 10 different festivals to celebrate the beginning of a new year. Some of them are harvest festivals, some are days of mythological victories of good over evil while others are based on the lunar calendar. Think about it. If we want, we can have so many more occasions to party! However, one party that none of us miss is at midnight on 31st December, which marks the New Year as per the Georgian calendar.
Most people kick start their new year with a plethora of resolutions, most of which are unrealistic and therefore, remain unfulfilled. Realizing that, we at BatchBuzz, have kept our resolution simple. We resolve to uphold our promise of being true to our community – to continue to provide unedited content that represents your voice and to enable you express yourself in the easiest possible way.
