BB Supports: The Haiti Causes-Help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake |
The New Year for Haiti started on a tragic note. On 12th January 2010, the first black-led republic was shaken by an earthquake that measured 7.0 on the Richter scale. Since then, it has suffered at least 52 aftershocks, some measuring up to 5.0.
On 28th January 2010, the Haiti government announced that at least 20,000 commercial and 225,000 residential buildings had either collapsed or been severely damaged. It also confirmed that at least 170,000 people had died.
Evidently, it will take a lot to help this nation recover. While there is little we can do to make up for the loss of their loved ones, we can surely donate our time and money to help rebuild their homes, offices, schools and eventually, their lives.
